TEENS

Ministry to our youth includes quarterly events planned by Queen Anne Lutheran staff,
as will as other activities planned in collaboration with several other north-end Lutheran churches under the name “Project Phoenix.”.

Here are some opportunities for our youth. We hope that you are able to participate in some or all of these events!

A Busy December, 2023:

On Friday, December 8, Pastor Dan, parents, and youth met at Compass Housing to help wrap gifts for the holidays.

On Sunday, December 10, Project Phoenix hosted an event for youth here at QALC called “EXTREME MAKEOVER: GNOME EDITION.”  Nine gnomes were “redesigned” and entered into a competition for Christmas prizes, and a good time was had by all!

On Saturday, December 16, Pastor Dan and youth gathered in the Fellowship Hall kitchen to bake and decorate cookies for Compass Housing; cookies were also given to New Horizons to cap off the dinner QALC provided there on the 29th as part of our “fifth Friday” commitment. Many thanks to Amy and Ingrid for their leadership, help, and for the transportation of cookies.

Queen Anne Lutheran 2024 Plans:

FEBRUARY 11: LDR Bake Sale   We’ll help our youth organize and prepare items for a bake sale here at church to raise funds for donation to Lutheran Disaster Relief. Youth will decide to which part of the world they would like to send their donation. Watch your Sunday announcements for more information!

APRIL: Forest Restoration   We will work with Green Seattle Partnership to find a spring date to pull invasive plants and/or plant native flora to help restore the ecosystems in our parks or other forested areas in Seattle.

JUNE: Food Lifeline   Food Lifeline gathers and re-packages food donations for delivery to the region’s food banks. On a Saturday morning or afternoon, we’ll take a trip to there to help them do that work.

Project Phoenix Plans:

Sunday, February 4 at Ballard First Lutheran from 4-6pm. More detailed info on this forthcoming—it will be a “Minute to Win It”-type game event.
Mark the following Sunday afternoons to your calendars for future Project Phoenix events:
