In the spirit of the Good Shepherd who cares for the sheep, we serve to provide a ministry of caring. By reaching out in friendship and compassion to our neighbors, in good times and in times of need, we strive to make every person feel they are a special part of our faith community.
Visits
Did you know Queen Anne Lutheran has a Visitation Team? Hospitality doesn’t end at the church door. There are lots of reasons someone you know—maybe even YOU—can’t get to the church building. That won’t stop us from including you in Queen Anne Lutheran Church life, including Communion. The Visitation Team visits folks who are:
• Homebound, and wishing for a visit to see friends and catch up on Church activities and projects
• In the hospital, and longing for a friendly smile from non-medical people
• Recuperating, but not quite well enough to travel to church just yet
• Grieving over the death of a loved one, and just want to share some moments of melancholy and joyful remembering in the privacy of home
If you, or someone you know, may benefit from a visit, just call the church office. Team leader Connie Wurm will arrange for teammates to visit as little as just once, or as often as once a month. Whatever the visitation need, Queen Anne Lutheran’s Visitation Team is just waiting for your invitation.
What Happens to My Prayer Request?
Do you have a prayer request? Write your request on a pew card during worship, and place it in the offering plate or give it to the pastor. You may also call or email the church office to leave a prayer request, and it will be given to Pastor Dan. When we receive a prayer request, it is helpful to know if you would like this prayer to be included during Sunday worship in the weeks following, and/or if you would like the request sent out to the church e-mail Prayer Chain. Pastor Dan can reach out to you when he sees your request, and we will not make a request public unless you ask to do so.
Please help us keep prayer requests up to date. If not updated, prayer requests will be considered for removal after four weeks. We realize some hardships are ongoing, and renewing a request for prayer in such a case is supported. You can renew or discontinue requests by contacting Pastor Dan or the office.
Please obtain permission from the person concerned before publishing his or her name.
What’s the Prayer Chain?
It is simply an e-mail group of members who have asked to receive prayer requests, so that they may each include them in their personal prayers at home, and keep apprised of members who have hardships. If you are a member of QALC who would like to become part of our Prayer Chain, simply call or email the church office.
Christmas Poinsettias and Easter Lilies Bring Cheer and Commemorate Loved Ones
We have a tradition now of visiting our isolated members with a lily plant just before Easter (and with a poinsettia in Advent as well.) Extra plants are used to decorate the altar that Sunday, and donors may take them home on a first-come, first served basis after worship. Donations are noted in our Easter bulletin, along with the names of those the donors would like to commemorate with their gift.If you would like to donate a plant this year, please go to this page to do so.
